Katy Sansom BDS

Katy qualified from Cardiff Medical School in 2005, after which she completed her vocational training year in Barry. In 2006 a hectic July saw her get married, move house (to Woodcote) and start a new job at Wallingford. She began working at Caversham Heights Dental Practice in December 2011. Katy enjoys all areas of dentistry and is happiest when a patient is smiling too.

Katy has two energetic little boys, Matthew and Finlay who tend to occupy most of her time outside of the surgery. If she does manage to find a few minutes Katy enjoys going to boot camp, mountain biking and especially loves a fast horse ride in Windsor Great Park.

Katy Strongly believes in a preventative and minimally invasive approach to dentistry and enjoys improving her patient’s smiles with these principles in mind

Karen Wright BDS

Karen trained at the Royal Dental School of Copenhagen, qualifying in 1990. Since then she has travelled widely, gaining experience in many areas of dentistry. On settling in England, she registered with the General Dental Council in 1998. When she moved to Henley in 2001 we were delighted to welcome her to the practice. Karen and her husband have two young boys who all enjoy outdoor activities and are regular skiers.

Stephanie Brown BDS

Stephanie has been working in general practice for more than twenty five years: her strengths are good communication and putting people at ease; she is particularly good with anxious patients. Stephanie is experienced in all aspects of dentistry: from tooth whitening and cosmetic work to white fillings and root treatments, but the most rewarding part for her is when the patient has had a pleasant experience and is pleased with the final result.

When at home, Stephanie goes for long walks with her labradoodle Sammy and has recently acquired an allotment. She exercises at the gym regularly and enjoys running and yoga. Stephanie has 2 teenage children that keep her on her toes and a very tolerant husband.

Nikki Billinness

Nikki qualified as a dental hygienist at the Royal Army Corps Aldershot in December 1989. She lives in Windsor Town Centre with her husband Bob and has two teenage children.

In Nikki’s free time she loves to run, especially through the Great Park and on the Long walk. She loves to holiday with her family, trying to visit new interesting places each time.

Daniela Reynaga

Daniela qualified as a dental hygienist in 2001. She has been living in Reading for 9 years and gained experience working at a number of private practices in the region.

In Daniela’s spare time she enjoys long walks in the countryside with her partner and her lovely new dog. Daniela loves cycling and most outdoor sports, but also enjoys meeting up with friends for dinner or a night out on the town. Her favourite food has to be Spanish and her best holiday is going to visit her family.

Rosemarie Hewett

Rosemarie qualified as a dental hygienist from Guy’s Hospital School of Dental Hygiene. In her role as a Hygienist , she endeavours to support her patients in reaching and maintaining high standards of oral health.

Outside of working hours, Rosemarie regularly attends courses, in order to keep up to date with current thinking and new products.

Kelly Tatam

Kelly has worked as a dental nurse for 24 years in both community and private practices and has spent 7 years at Caversham Heights. She is married with two very sporty children, so can be seen either at track or pitch side cheering them on.

Kelly enjoys travelling as a family abroad, seeing as many countries as possible. To keep fit she takes part in a weekly latin and ballroom class and has even been known to take the odd exam and perform in the yearly show.

Rachel Bell

Rachel has worked as dental nurse for 8 years and qualified in 2006. She previously worked at an NHS practice before joining the Caversham Heights team in 2006.

Rachel has two teenage children and a cute little dog called Lilly. She enjoys walking the dog and travelling, when not providing a taxi service for her children!

Jennifer Donaldson

Jennifer began working as a dental nurse in 2004 and went on to achieve level 3 NVQ in Oral Health Care and registered with the GDC. She has previously worked in two NHS practices before joining the team at Caversham Heights in March 2011.

Jennifer has four children, two boys and two girls, with her childhood sweetheart and best friend Dean. She lives a simple life as a housewife and loves nothing less than a clean tidy house! Jennifer is also a volunteer at her younger childrens’ school, helping the teachers with the children’s reading and fundraising.

Dentist in Caversham Reading

Carol Woodward

Carol started working at Caversham Heights Dental Practice in 2000 after being a patient of Dave’s for many years before that. She soon realized that there was a lot more to the job that just making appointments!

Carol also works at the Hexagon Theatre in Reading as an usher, so if you see her there do go and say hello. She won’t be able to make you an appointment but could sell you an ice cream! Carol is married and has two grown up daughters and three wonderful grandsons. She enjoys visiting new places and going to shows but most of all spending time with her family.

Management

Louise Piercy

Louise started at Caversham Heights in September 2013. Her career in dentistry began in 2001 as a Dental Nurse at Triangle in Tilehurst, she registered with the GDC in 2008. Louise has now moved into Practice Management using her 12 years of knowledge and experience to help her evolve in this role.

Louise moved to Caversham recently and is married with two young children. She spends her free time entertaining her family and also loves to bake. She’ll often be found in the kitchen with two small helpers.

Peter Sansom BSc (Hons)

Pete went to Cardiff University to study maths and now works as an Actuary. Having always wanted to run his own business he jumped at the opportunity of helping his wife Katy run a dental practice, hoping that his love of spreadsheets would help!

Pete plays squash in the Berkshire county leagues, loves to mountain bike and play football – in fact any sporting activity Pete is sure to enjoy! When he is not outside getting muddy you can find him teaching his two boys the offside rule!

 

Standards for the Dental Team

The GDC have just published new guidance relating to the standards you can expect from our Dental team. There are 9 principles:

  1. Put patients’ interests first.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients.
  3. Obtain valid consent.
  4. Maintain and protect patients’ information.
  5. Have a clear and effective complaints procedure.
  6. Work with colleagues in a way that is in patients’ best interests.
  7. Maintain, develop and work within your professional knowledge and skills.
  8. Raise concerns if patients are at risk.
  9. Make sure your personal behaviour maintains patients’ confidence in you and the dental profession.
