You may wonder what white fillings are.
White fillings are also popularly known as composite fillings.

Amalgam Fillings
These fillings use liquid mercury and a metal alloy mixture to fill the cavities or gaps caused by dental caries/tooth decay.
A typical amalgam filling is made up of mercury (50%), silver (~22–32%), tin (~14%), copper (~8%), and some other trace metals.
It is a silver-grey mass condensed in the cavities and allowed to harden.

– Particle size is: 10-25μm.
– Filler content is about 70-80% by weight.
Micro-Filled: Filler type is Fused silica.
– Particle size is: 0.03-0.5μm.
– Filler content is: 40-50%.
Hybrid: Filler content is 75-80%.
– Particle size is 0.5- 1.00μm, which is why it is called a hybrid.
Nano Filled: Nanosized particles are added in this which are approximately 100 times smaller than the thickness of a human hair.

I have been using this dental practice for many years. I can be a bit of a baby when it comes to having treatment but honestly the practice is so very good. My dentist Karen is a wonderful kind and gentle dentist. It helps when you’re made to feel at ease. The receptionists are also kind and friendly whilst making sure they have all the right and up to date medical information about you. I would 100% recommend them to anyone in the area. The hygienist is also very good.

I cannot recommend Caversham Heights Dental Practice enough.I was an extremely nervous patient and had not seen a dentist for several years. Even from the first phone call with reception it was clear that my nerves would be taken seriously and that everyone wanted to make the experience as comfortable as possible.Dr Baidwan took the time to understand my previous experiences, why I was scared and explained everything really calmly and clearly with no judgement. He put together a treatment plan that worked for me, explained everything he was doing and why, and generally made every effort to put me at ease.I have been a regular fixture at the practice over the last couple of months - the treatment has been excellent throughout and seeing the improvement as the work has progressed has given me a renewed sense of confidence. I would highly recommend to anyone, but particularly those who have anxiety associated with previous bad experiences at a dentist.

Caversham Heights is an outstanding dental practice. We’ve been regular patients for the last 7 years - Karen is terrific and now brilliant with our young children too. Great judgement by Amrinder when he saw my daughter’s broken tooth after a fall and referred her for a jaw X-ray. She did indeed have a small fracture!Katy our usual dentist always looks after our whole family exceptionally well, good to know she has such a great colleague to step in when we needed urgent help.
